At Sea on the General R. E. Callahan - 163 miles out at 12 midnight. Mild.
What a day! When the engine broke down at midnight the cabin became a sweat box and we just rolled. Mom got sick as a dog and missed the railing - Daddy was just as calm as could be and at about 7 p.m. I (Sandy) decided to be ill.
We wallowed around the ocean until about 4 p.m. then started back for N.Y. for a repair job. They may take all of the Bremerhaven passengers off and send us to Gibraltar but we won't know right away -
Should be in N.Y. by 8:30 a.m. Sandy has been wonderful, even when he's sick he's so good.
It's 11:30 p.m. Sandy feels fine now, I'm not sick and neither is Daddy - maybe we've come through the worst.
