Pier # 11, New York. Snow - rain
Looked as though we were really gonna have snow this a.m. but then the sun came out and at 11 a.m. the skipper said everyone could have shore leave 'til 8 a.m. so again - the few who could get anyone to stake them to it, took off for greener hills. Most of the survivors from last night looked pretty rough.
Sam and Sandy and I went out on the beach (get that) and saw a double feature movie and had chow - then back in the pouring rain to dear Gen. Callahan - at about 8 p.m.. Sandy hit the sack immediately.
When we ordered dinner tonight Sandy told Sam he wanted ice cream, Sam told him O.K., that he'd keep it in mind. Sandy said, "Oh no, don't just put it there, I want it right here!" and slapped the table in from of him.
